Telegram bot for event reminders

Task

In the organization, event reminders got lost in group chats. Nobody read them, the right people did not get the information, and not everyone came to events.

Solution

I connected a Django backend to a Telegram bot. Events and roles are created in the admin panel, and the bot sends reminders only to the right groups and at a set time before the start. The content manager edits the texts and schedule without asking a developer.

What was done

• Connected a Django backend to a Telegram reminder bot
• Added reminders sent by role to the right groups
• Set up reminders a set time before each event
• Moved events, roles and texts into the admin panel for the content manager
• Wrote the documentation

Result

Reminders no longer get lost in group chats and reach the right people by role. The client now manages events in the admin panel without a developer.
